82...16...75...Hutt...Hutt...Hutt...Hike!

As I was replying to an email, I happened to think of our situation.

We feel as though we have our own cheer section in a very big stadium. LOL It's almost as if we are getting ready to play a football game. We have friends who are like the offensive coach, as their words are that of support from the Ruach. We have another set of friends who are like the defensive coach, as they offer their support but also warn against surprises by the other team. Then we have friends who tell us that they are not worried, as they feel we are ready for whatever awaits us on the playing field. Then there is the family member who is like the Team Captain, who says that she supports us, but that it's not wise to go into the game without a playbook (job). And as I mentioned, it seems like we have a large cheering section comprised of people we know, and those whom we have never met.

OK, so maybe this is an odd parallel, but hey...I'm odd!

Seriously, though. We have been in training for over ten years for whatever awaits us in Tennessee. We don't know what that is, and we don't know if we are entirely ready, but we are anxious to see what it is. This big stadium called Life has lots of games in it that we all get to play. Some we win, and some we get our butts kicked in. There is a training season for all of us before the Big Game. For some it's relatively short, and for others it's a very long time. Some people come onto the team with lots of experience, and others just throw really good (head knowledge), but really don't know how to play the game (heart knowledge).

So, how can we know what's in store for us? We can't. Every football player knows the rules, and they know the general guidelines of the game. But they don't know what plays the opposite team has up their sleeves, nor if they've been training harder than themselves. The only thing we can do is train, train, train...until we feel we are ready for the game, and then keep on training. We've been slacking in this area lately, just making sure we can catch the ball. Unfortunately, I've dropped the ball quite a few times lately from not training hard enough. This is a crucial time for our family as we head out to places we've never seen, meeting people we've only seen words written by (or heard their voices), and experiencing things that we would never expect to experience. I could say that we're ready for this, but I know deep down that we're not. But that's not stopping the team Owner from making sure we're on the field. We have fears, and who wouldn't when they haven't prepared well enough.

Maybe we are just moving to a new training arena. We have so many questions right now that we just keep packing the bus and getting ready to hit the road.
