Ever wonder if you are doing the thing that you "believe" you
"should" be doing, but aren't all that sure about going about it the
right way? Welp...the last couple of days was one of those times. I
prayed the night before last for YHWH to show me that we were doing
what we were supposed to be doing. That answer came today. Since we
have been in good standing with the guy that owns our house, we
wanted to do our best to get someone to come in right behind us, if
not by the first of the month. We also found out last week that the
gal that was renting our back house was moving as well. She moved
out on Tuesday. We had a couple of people look at the back house,
but didn't want it for one reason or another. Then comes this young
(early 20's) single mom (although having a live-in boyfriend) who is
looking to move out of her mom's house. She comes over, looks at it
and says that she'll take it, even before we get a rental app in her
hands. On her way out she starts crying and gave Teresa a big
thank-you hug. She came back with the rental app and the proper
amount for rent+deposit - in cash! That was Wednesday. Let me
remind y'all...the other tenant moved out Tuesday, and we had it
rented on Wednesday. Then there was our place. Last night, as we
were prepping for Erev, we had a couple of calls of people that
wanted to come take a look. So, we held off dinner for a
bit...waiting and waiting. One guy said to call him back when we
were done...he sounded like he was ready to bring the move-in money
with him. We ate, called him back, and he never showed. We were
expecting a few people to come over today. The morning went on and
no one showed. Then we had a guy call that was staying in a hotel a
couple blocks away. He came over looked at it and about started
crying, as well. He is going to be working at the local prison,
along with two buddies. He took the rental app and came back a
couple hours later saying that his friends were overjoyed as well
(they were out of the area today). He signed the lease and will be
back next Sat with the move-in money. And the best part...and if
this wasn't the working of YHWH, it would just be totally
hilarious...they end their training on the 18th, start here locally
on the 19th (the day we move), and will be moving in right behind us
on the 20th!!!!!!
We also spoke to the property owner this afternoon to let him know we
were leaving and that we had new renters for him, including the guys
moving in right behind us. His response was akin to, "Sorry to see
you go, but good job on the back-filling!" You have to realize that
this guy has bought gift certificates for us to the most expensive
restaurant in town in appreciation; his son, who graduated early and
studied in China, gave our kids a private martial arts lesson; and
after renting from him for a very short time gave us the
responsibility of being property managers for ALL of his properties
in our town. When he found out we were Hebraic, he started quoting
the blessings for the food. LOL
Let me lay this out...ad placed on Monday, first gal moved out
Tuesday, second gal signed lease on Wed (moving in this coming
Monday), our place is rented on Saturday (with a move-in on the
20th). This is a town where it took FOUR MONTHS to get the last
place rented! And now we have a realtor in TN that is going to be
working with us, as well as praying about the decisions she has to
make. Aaaaand we are leaving on a good note with the property owner,
even with the short notice! Yah's hand isn't in this
situation??? You bet your breeches He is!!!
BTW...Chag Sameach Rosh Chodesh!
(Enjoy the celebration of the new moon!)
